The "Krishnamurthy Hepatobiliary Software" (KHBS) system is used for

KHBS is a comprehensive, PC-based software program that reads and
analyzes dicom images
from a "gamma camera" for in-depth
analysis.
"CT" and
"MRI" Versus "Hida Scan"
Dr. G. T. Krishnamurthy said that while ultrasound, computed
tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are the primary
imaging procedures used to detect such diseases, their results are
limited in providing functional assessment.
“Although CT and MRI provide
excellent morphologic information, they depend upon change in the
form and structure of the organs to detect diseases,” he said. "KHBS
will help clinicians detect the earliest manifestations of liver
diseases by identifying functional changes at the cellular level,
increasing the chances of complete recovery.”
Generally Hida Scans are used to detect Gallbladder diseases.
KHBS provides additional benefits from HIDA Scans.
One user stated
that
they automatically include diagnosis of the Liver when
performing the Hida Scan. It is done quickly and they found that an
estimated 5-10% of the patients that came to them for Gallbladder
also had some form of Liver disease.
The following are just a few of
the Liver Diseases that can be detected during

Acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis including,
sclerosing cholangitis, biliary cirrhosis,

than the Serum test a common test used in
